The Your Trial interactive novel is a new short story by the Zombie Exodus author, Jim Dattilo. Surprisingly, there are no murderous zombies—instead, you’re the one on trial for murder.

The Your Trial interactive novel is playable on the new StoryLoom platform. It requires an account to read.

In Your Trial, you’ll be taking control of Alex—as he awakens in his jail cell with no memory of his past. The setting is a huge change from Dattilo’s other novels.

Before too long, you’ll find that Alex is put on trial for murder—and will need to defend himself or be imprisoned for life. It’s a story that’ll be full of twists, turns, and self-discovery.

Your Trial’s first chapter, “Awakening” is available for play now on StoryLoom – with future chapters releasing in an episodic fashion.

Don’t worry, Dattilo is still hard at work writing future Zombie Exodus titles, too. He plans to release Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, Part 4 sometime in 2024-2025.

Your Trial marks a massive milestone in Dattilo’s career. Unlike the Zombie Exodus series, the Your Trial novel is complete with visuals and effects.

For fans of drama and law stories, Your Trial is definitely worth keeping an eye on. We’re only a chapter in, but the story shows massive promise and gives off very Ace Attorney vibes.

Jim Dattilo is easily one of the most prominent interactive fiction writers today. If there’s any interactive novels to keep on your radar—it’s his.

StoryLoom seems to be a new platform where creators and authors can make their own visual novels and interactive stories. It’ll be interesting to see how it fares, especially up against titans like Choice Of Games.
